Dear SunBeing,
We hope you are doing well. Spring season is well and truly here for us in this off-grid village. Having mostly perfect weather and temperatures makes off-grid life feel a lot more comfortable! The mosquitos and flies aren’t out yet, so we get to savour our time outdoors before they swallow us up.
We’ve come out of the wintery phase of electricity blackouts, so now with the consistent sun and electricity, my partner, Owen, is enjoying more time being able to record his music. We recently decided to roll up a trampoline (abandoned by a family years ago) up the hill to our yurt. This definitely feels like an improvement to our living space. Sometimes even used as my work space. Small, simple pleasures and remembering our sense of fun…
A little update for those who may be wondering about the global business additions that used to be on every newsletter – they will return at some point soon. With the background changes going on with the SunBeings platform and the big changes and decisions to be made in our personal lives, business research needed to pause. We do have some exciting additions to share with you soon!
Luckily, we hope you can still enjoy the two blog posts we have to share with you, and a book recommendation. The first post is an inspirational story written by Roee about his experience protecting a special piece of land in Israel from the military. The other is by Owen, sharing his highly creative music video both in English and Welsh, with a written post… allowing us to get a taste and appreciation of the Welsh language and our Celtic roots. Find out more below:
Ein Fit – By Roee Hershberg
Roee shares his courageous story of living on, and protecting a piece of beautiful, sacred land with a spring in Israel called Ein Fit, that was being destroyed by the Israeli military. Roee felt called to stay there and live deep in nature with few basics. A test of which of the opposing forces will remain on this land… nature, or destruction by the so-called authorities? Read to find out what happens.
Blodau Seren: Star Blossom – By Owen Hanner
Owen, a gifted musician, has recorded 2 versions of the same song with a dreamy artistic video. One in English and the other in Welsh. He has also written a post exploring Wales, our Celtic roots and why they inspire him. A history of myth and magic… a culture that wants to be remembered. Immerse yourself and enjoy…
Book recommendation – Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton
A book recommended by Carina Ramm, the previous founder of SunBeings. A true story of Chloe’s unusual experience when she discovers a newborn hare, alone in the cold, likely lost, or abandoned by its mother. Chloe decides to take it in and raise it. A special bond of trust and profound mutual respect develops between them, in which the hare was given the space to remain a wild being. When the hare reached adulthood, Chloe allowed it to go back into the wild, but it decided to return, and even give birth and raise leverets in her house and garden, driving their bond ever deeper. Chloe’s book highlights our connection with the natural world, and why hares want to be better understood and protected.
